Life is More Fun with Sunshine and Friends

Today we played at a friends playground here in town. Ava and Olivia had a great time giggling together.

Goin on a Bear Hunt!

Today was a BEAUTIFUL Sunday. Rather than wrestling three kids during Stake Conference we went on a hike to Merrymere Falls and visited Cresent Lake. But more importantly was the "beer hunt" Mason was on. As we came across other hikers on the trail Mason let them know "I goin on beer hunt, i catch big one, i not fraid I got gun." He proudly showed off his blue dart gun in the side pocket of his pants and I translate to them. "He's goin on a bear hunt he's going to catch a big one, he's not affraid, cause he's got a glock in his pocket!

Moving on........

We have started and new chapter in our families lives. Things are mostly settled here in Sequim. The future is looking bright and I'm excited to explore this beautiful new place. We loved living in North Bend and are already missing so much about it. It is a bittersweet feeling to be leaving a place that is so special to us. Our first home, Ava and Masons first home. Leaving the playhouse was hard. I looked forward to many seasons of Ava and Mason playing in the back yard. Ava and Daniel put on an Amazing Rupunzel play almost everyother night in the Summer. Man I will miss that back yard. The view of the mountain, the way the air smells and seriously the best water! I will miss North Bend water!
However we left one piece of Heaven for another. Sequim is truely beautiful. There are so many new places to see and explore. I have all that I need near by. Daniel is home from work five minutes after leaving. Ava's preschool which we love is only a couple miles away. Grocery stores, library the gym, all near by. The most comforting thing about moving is knowing as a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that I have a built in family where ever we go. As soon as I called the Bishop of my new Ward we were welcomed with open arms. There were members at are house ready to unload our moving truck. The Sisters brining me bananna bread and apple-butter. I already have had a visit from my Visting Teachers and Relief Society Presidency. They are on it, and it is so comforting.

Best Dad Award!

Daniel and Ava really are buddies. He is always playing whatever game it is she wants to play. Those two are always getting into some kind of fun. The other night Daniel came inside and said I had to come out and see this, Ava can do magic. I go outside and Ava tells me " watch Mom". Waving her fudge sickle around like a wand and saying bibbidi -bobbidi -boo she points it at the trunk of the car and the trunk pops open! She is grinning from ear to ear that she can do magic! Her Dad never lets her in on the secret that he had the automatic trunk opener in hand. He just lets her have her bit of magic. Well done Dad. : )

Allow me to introduce MR. M

There is a new man in the house. He's a blond haired, blue eyed dream boat. Mason Ryan Malmberg (aka MR. M) was born on Wednesday June 30th at 12:38 pm. He was 7.2lbs and 21 1/4" long. He is as sweet as it gets. Really a perfect baby. Eats and sleeps great. ( check back on the "sleeps great" in a few weeks) The delivery went great and we have both been recovering really well. Honestly I didn't know what I was missing not having a little boy. He has such a sweet and calming personality- I hope that stays because he and his sister would be polar opposites. Ava is doing well. She loves her brother and seems to only be taking out her animosity about the whole situation on her mom and Dad. She tells MR. M sweet things like " i love you brother, I'll protect you." and when you are bigger we can play and I'll tackle you" I am sure she will keep her promise to tackle him, hopefully she will keep the part of "when you are older"

Out of the mouth of Babes

Ava says a lot of funny things. I usually mean to write down and end up not. So before I forget here is a couple resent funnies from Ava Blue herself:

When I grow up-5/25/10

Today we went to story time at the library. Before reading a book call "When I grow up" the librarian asked the children what they want to be when they grow up. Ava promptly without needing anytime to think said " I want to be Cinderella"

My little helper is grossed out.
Ava- "Mom I will feed brother his bottles"
Mom- "Sometime you might be able to feed brother but when mommies grow babies in their tummies they have milk in the breasts, and that's how they feed their babies." "Does that makes sense, do you understand?"
Ava- "Yeah, but that's gross mom, don't do that!"

She already wants out of this house! Ava and I were having a day of differences to say the least. I was doing dishes and she was standing beside me. Determined to be contrary with her mother and me doing my best to ignore the behavior looks up at me and says in the sassiest voice you can imagine "Humph, someday my prince will come" pout pouts and sashays away in her dress up clothes from head to toe.

I love me a garage sale!

Nothing is better than a garage sale, except an entire community worth of Garage sales.
I found some pretty good loot today. Disney Movies, clothes for Ava and Mason. One of those big parachutes for kids- you know the kind that everyone has a handle and you throw your arms in the air then quickly back down again and you can all sit underneath it. CD player for Ava's room. Tools for Ava so she can finish "Becky's wall". (Whenever Daniel is in the shop working on the kitchen Ava goes out there to work too and there is this counter top that she says is Beckys wall She pounds away at it with hammers, put screws and nails into it, tapes it.) So anyway now she can have some of her own tools to work on things with Dad. Saving best for last is the Fisher-Price Nature's Touch Baby Papasan Cradle Swing! I went to one house that had it for 30 bucks, not bad since it costs 150 new. I stewed over it for at least 10 min then decided to get it. I paid the lady 30 bucks then instantly I had buyers remorse. But I have no shame I told her " I know this is really tacky but can I change my mind?" she said yes so got my money back and the next house I went to had it for 10 bucks and I offered 8 and SOLD! It is mine. Now that makes my day!
